Hungary’s squad for Euro 2020
Hungary’s national football team has announced their squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament. The squad is composed of 26 players, with the majority coming from the domestic league.
Goalkeepers
The goalkeeping duties will be handled by Peter Gulacsi, Adam Bogdan, and Denes Dibusz. Gulacsi is the definite number one, having been a consistent performer for RB Leipzig in the German Bundesliga. Bogdan and Dibusz will serve as his backups.
Defenders
The defense will be anchored by veteran center-back and captain, Willi Orban. He will be partnered by Attila Szalai, Endre Botka, and Szabolcs Achim. The full-back positions will be contested by Gergely Lovrencsics, Bendeguz Bolla, and Attila Fiola.
Midfielders
The midfield will be a mix of youth and experience. The creative midfielders are Loic Nego, Adam Nagy, Daniel Gazdag, Laszlo Kleinheisler, and Tamas Cseri. The central midfielders are Andras Schafer and David Siger.
Forwards
The Hungarian attack will be spearheaded by Adam Szalai, who has been in fine form for Mainz in the Bundesliga. He will be backed up by Roland Sallai, Nemanja Nikolic, Roland Varga, and Filip Holender.
Overall prediction
Hungary has been drawn in a tough group alongside Portugal, France, and Germany. They have a talented squad, but progression from the group stage will be a monumental task. They will need their key players to perform at their best if they hope to progress in the tournament.
